A. School Terms
School terms and public holidays are as per KZN school calendar.
1st Term: 11 January – 31 March
2nd Term: 18 April – 30 June
3rd Term: 24 July – 29 September
4th Term: 9 October - 6 December
B. School Hours
Non Readiness Mondays – Thursday: 8.00am to 12.00pm & 8.00am to 11.00 am on Fridays.
Readiness – Mondays – Thursday: 7.45am -12.15pm & 7.45am -11.15am on Friday
N.B: Children brought to school before 7.30am and left at school after 12.15pm, will be left UNSUPERVISED.
C. School Fees
School fees are payable in the first 2 weeks of each term (4 terms per year). If full fees for the year are paid up front by 31 January 2017, you will qualify for a discount of R400.
Fees is R3 800 per term or R14 800 if paid by 31 January 2017
Wonderkids has 10 month payment plan, with the first payment payable in January, and final payment in October.
Any cash deposits made into the Wonderkids account, will incur a surcharge of 2%. The amount must be included with the school fees.
Fees are payable during a child’s absence, illness or being taken away on holiday. A notice of one term is to be given to the school if you choose to withdraw your child from the school. Fees are not refundable and should the fees remain unpaid, the child will not be able to continue in the following term and the matter will be handed over to our lawyers.
A non-refundable registration fee of R300 is due on acceptance. If you have any enquires regarding school fees kindly contact the office

The children will be taken on 2 excursions during the year. The cost of all excursions will be covered by the parents. No child may go on excursion unless the relevant consent/indemnity forms are signed.
Reports will be issued at the end of the first, second and fourth terms. A “consultation” day is held during the first, second and third terms to ensure that the parents are kept informed of their child’s progress. Parents’ observations are scheduled for the second term.
Parents wishing to discuss matters pertaining to the child’s education are asked to do so by making an appointment. Teachers are not allowed to discuss your child’s progress telephonically or at dismissal time. Wednesday afternoons have been allocated for this purpose. Parents are requested to book an appointment with the secretary to discuss your child’s progress or concerns with the teacher.
F. Health Precautions
Sick children are not allowed to attend school until a doctors’ clearance certificate is sent to the school. The school should be informed of any infectious diseases.
G. Communication Book:
Response to message is vital. Please read all messages and SIGN & RESPOND. Books are to be kept neat and tidy. Communication books are to be placed in a clear plastic sleeve so that it does not get soiled and to be sent to school daily.
We would like to develop independence in our children; therefore children must be left with the staff at the gate each morning. Parents are not allowed beyond this point as you are hampering your child’s growth towards independence.
Use the demarcated areas for parking, please do not park on the neighbours driveways and show courtesy at all times. Use the demarcated areas for pick and drop off, kindly do so with minimum of delay.
J. Lift Clubs:
Kindly inform class teachers of travel arrangement. The school will not take responsibility of any lift club arrangements. Kindly notify the form teacher via the communication book if anyone else will be picking up your child and also the lift club if your child is not attending school.
K. Lunches & Toys:
The children are allowed only to bring “healthy lunches”, fruits, nuts, raisins etc. No sweets, chocolates, chips, biscuits, cold drinks, energy drinks are allowed. Only water is allowed. The children are also not allowed to bring any toys to school.
L. Birthday Parties:
Regret no birthday parties are allowed at school. Only party packs will be allowed. However a birthday ring is done for each child.- Thanking the Almighty for His blessings.
Wonderkids have a no homework policy.
N. Islamic Programme:
Wonderkids runs a comprehensive Islamic program for all Muslim children, which cover aspects of : Hifz, Zikr, Aklaaq, Fiqh, Islamic History & Quidah. Our Islamic programme is run by a specialist Islamic teacher.
N.B: For consults with the Madresah Mualimah, please communicate in the notebook to schedule an appointment.
Should you have any concerns regarding any matters pertaining to school, you are urged to contact Mariam /Asiah and hopefully your concern will be resolved and any misconceptions avoided.
P. Phone Calls:
To avoid interruptions in lessons, teachers will not be taking any calls during school hours, this includes text messages. You may leave a message with secretary. The teachers are not allowed to share their cell numbers with the parents.The school does not allow social groups on bbm, what’s app etc groups with teachers, relating to school matters. All communication must be addressed directly to the form teacher or principal.
Kindly abide by these rules which will ensure the smooth running of our school and in return we could ensure that your child gets the best possible start to his/her education.

R. Divorced /Separated Parents
In case of custody battles, Wonderkids will take a neutral stand and will not disclose any information, in regards to the child involved, to either parent. The school will only liaise with the court officer, if one is appointed.
S. School Uniforms:
Wonderkids school uniforms are compulsory for daily use, for both summer and winter. Gem Schoolwear is the stockist of Wonderkids uniforms.
